Frustrated Angry Lion
2023
Morad's fourth lion sculpture embodies the intense frustration and anger he experienced during his prolonged imprisonment. This piece marks a departure from earlier works, with sharp spikes replacing the prominent mane, barred teeth, and raised hackles reflecting raw, defiant energy. The contrasting geometric cavities on the back create a visual antithesis to the aggressive front. Its posture suggests a creature poised to spring yet held back, mirroring Morad's own feelings of restraint. Unlike previous works, this non-disassemblable piece is unwieldy and uncomfortable to the touch with all its sharp protrusions.
