Lion on the Attack

2023

Morad's fifth and final lion sculpture in Evin Prison represents a powerful shift in his artistic vision. This piece, originally conceived as part of a seven-piece set or a large-scale rusted steel installation, depicts a lion's head with an open, roaring mouth and flared mane. Created as rumors of freedom circulated, the sculpture embodies raw determination and defiance. Whether imagined as multiple heads protruding from a wall at varying heights or as a single, massive brutalist piece, this lion symbolizes the unwavering fight for freedom.
